Are there any English translations of the Ancient Egyptian Coffin?
I don't think they are trying to 'hide' anything. From what I understand the writings on funerary items tended to either be a curse of some sort for people who fooled with the body or crypt, or what have you, or spells to help the dead find their way in the afterlife.
