How does the credit transfer in universities work?

The credit is awarded at another accredited institution that matches in course content and credit hours with a grade of C" or better in the US. If the academic advisor is unable to match a course in your scheme with a class that meets these requirements, then no credit is offered via a corresponding course at the new institution. You would be asked to produce a course bulletin, syllabus or other information to take to the department offering the course (i.e. math for a math class) to see if credit may be recommended. The academic advisor gets approval within its department and School/College and forwards the advance standing request to the Registrar's office for addition to the students record. These credits will appear on the first page of the transcript as awarded through articulation. Best advice for potential transfer students is to take a whole year of subjects to ease with the articulation. If you are at a Community College, check with your counselor to see which scheme is recommended for the in state public institutions that offer your major(s) to meet these requirements and get the most out of your transfer experience. I hope this helps. Good luck!
