You can do what you like but in many cases it wont change anything and if it dipped your grade average low enough to not keep your student visa you might be better off to talk to the teacher. Universities need to maintain their standards. Higher education makes the assumption, which sometimes isnt true, that they are dealing with people who can be responsible for themselves.
