I was you - except I also did well on the Verbal SAT. Didnt get into an Ivy, but got into a tier below that. Todays colleges are more competitive (this was 1979) because now EVERYBODY goes, but they will place the greatest weight on your most recent grades. They also prize diversity and that doesnt just mean race. Youll want to be well-rounded; to make yourself an interesting applicant who is more than just good grades. Creativity, community service, leadership skills - these things all matter. Good luck.
