What is a mark transcript which US universities require for MS?
I think the transcript(s) required are till the last exam you appeared in. Say, you are applying in the beginning of your 4th year, then you will have to give your transcripts of the previous six semesters. A transcript is just like the marksheet or a score card that you receive after the end of a semester which has the name of the courses as well as your scores. You do not have to mail the ones you got from college. You will have to go to the college registrar office and ask for them. Depending on the college, you might get a consolidated one (containing marks of all six semesters in one sheet) or separate for each one. These transcripts would be signed and stamped by the registrar. I think most US universities require the registrar office to send the transcripts directly to them, so you'd have to ask them to do that. It is a pretty hectic process. I am pretty afraid of doing all this myself when I apply.
