What is the procedure to get transcript from Bangalore University?
The process is very simple Visit - Application forms Download the application form from the third option ( too lenghty but covers all needs) Fill the form If you studied at a college that is affiliated to Bangalore university, you will have to get photocopies of all your marks cards along with the degree certificate (1set each for 1 copy/set of transcript, need 2 to for 2 and so on.) Filled application form should bear a seal & sign of your college principal. If you studied at BU directly then you don't need to get seal and sign. Once that is done only then visit Bangalore university to submit the application else you will be running around between college and University. Take your WES academic request form also. DDs are no longer accepted, so pay the fees online on BU website. Visit Bangalore University for other than autonomous colleges'. For Autonomous colleges affiliated to BU, visit Bangalore University- Online Fee Collection. The fees will get calculated by the payment site itself. After you pay it online download and print the challan. **Remember that if your marksheets are issued from a autonomous institute, then it will not be attested by BU. they will only attest the degree certificate. Eitherways, the fees remains the same. So lets say you have all of this in order and figured it out, how and where do you submit the application ? Reach Bangalore university campus - PARIKSHA BHAVAN there are 2 ways of submitting: 1: Slower, traditional, tested way. On the ground floor to your right is the Enquiry office (they are the most laziest and rude Bunch of people you will be dealing with so please dont lose your temper. They only start working after 10:30 am and when I say work all they will do is take your application and give you an acknowledgment slip that you need to keep safe until you get your transcripts.) Show your application form along with supporting documents, to which they'll give an acknowledgement and ask you to come back after 2 weeks. Do not try to bribe anyone here or believe anyone who says they will get your transcripts in a few days it doesnt work and you will lose your money and you still have to wait. 2: Sakala way, faster, not tried this (since I had already submitted my documents in Ground floor) Go to the first floor of the building, enter inside the metal grill and go inside the first room on the right. Do not go straight into the first room that you see. Once you enter, submit your documents to them. They will make an entry in their computer and then issue a 'Sakala Acknowledgement Form which is the challan slip . (please do not lose challan, take a photo, snapshot whatever and keep it safe until you receive your signed and sealed transcripts) The Sakala form will help you track the status of the application online instead of you personally going to the university multiple times. Once you get a message on your phone that your application is processed ( it will normally take a week from the date of submission of your application), GO TO parisksha Bhavan again. Collect your application from room 13, check if all the documents are in place along with envelope. After you're done, run to the administrative post office, that is basically the main office building. You'll find India Post. Collect three copies of declaration forms from them. After you do this, run back to Pariksha Bhavan room 13. They will deal the declaration forms, and also put a red stamp on the envelope. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. After this, run back to the India Post Main building, and hand over the declarations and envelope. You will have to seal the envelope and write the destination address yourself. And TADA! YOU'RE DONE. pay the fees for speed post. And track your courier online. It will easily take close to 3 weeks to reach the desired location. Heres what not cool or good about the entire process: Most universities would actually put an effort to give you a digital version of the transcripts in a sealed envelope in a timely fashion - WHAT MOST PEOPLE DONT REALISE IS FOR BANGALOE UNIVERSITY YOUR MARKS CARD IS THE TRANSCRIPT The set of photo copies you conveniently made and submitted will be checked by someone in BU and they will put a sign and seal, give those exact same xerox/photocopies back to you when you go to collect along with an envelope that has a seal midway. What you are required to at this point is, check all the Marks cards are there, they will be because you gave them, see if there is a seal and sign on each of the copy, then slide them into the envelope and then seal the mouth across with a tape by yourself. If you ask them, Hey this is not what I expected, they will say this how we give transcripts and have been for a long time now deal with it !! What I am mostly frustrated about is , A. We filled the forms, Got them signed, Got a DD, submitted it. all BU is Doing is Put a seal and sign and they are taking 15 days for this and charging money. take 50 bucks for the seal, but 500 for a copy of transcripts and they are not even giving you a version of their own is ludacris!! Ps: Bangalore university said they will start accepting the transcript fees online but there no are signs of that yet. - this is now live and DDs are no longer acceptable. There are allot of transcript provider services charging from 5k to 13k for a copy of transcript all because the students dont want to get their hands dirty or just simply spend an hour of their time. So please think twice before buying their service.( I am in no way against their service and cannot judge them)! Hope this gives a complete picture of the process to get the transcripts, I recently (April 2018) had to get two copies and thats how I familiarized my self with the process. Edit: 1 Thanks to Vittal Shettigar PMP who recently applied for a set of transcripts and informed me the price has been increased hence I have amended the answer. Edit: 2 for people who are getting these transcripts to send to WES / any education evaluation organization. the process to apply (obtain) your transcripts remains same. You only have to ask Bangalore university to send the transcript directly to WES. Edit: 3 - Thank you everyone for the upvotes, did not expect this answer to get so popular. I would like to clear a few things though I do not work for the BU and I was a student just like all of you when I applied WES allowed us to send the transcripts directly to them, however now you need to ask BU to send it, if anyone has found out what the process is for that; please let me know and I will update my answer. Please do not repeatedly ask the same question in the comments, read this answer two or 3 times it has all the steps. If you found this info helpful I will know that I made a difference :) please feel free to share, upvote or ask any doubts in the comments section. -Lalith
