Why do some universities ask for your high school transcripts when?

More Community Colleges are offering dual enrollment for high school students in the US. While the college credits will have a GPA at the Community College, the credit is used to meet high school requirements, and generally do not bring a grade that is factored in to the high school GPA. A high school diploma or its equivalent is still a requirement for admission into a University. Some students find themselves in college after not taking high school very seriously. The high school transcript is still the easiest way to verify graduation from high school since most high schools are not part of the electronic database used to supply collegiate transcripts. It does very little for a transfer application evaluation, but is another box that must be checked in the admission process. I hope this helps. Good luck!
