Why do US universities reject unofficial transcripts?
Because there is no way to authenticate an unofficial transcript. An unofficial transcript can be easily modified and thereby be produced as a fake document. To prove the authenticity of a document, the registered body that issued the certificate needs to issue an official transcript which proper institution seal and institution officers signature.
