Can a university destroy a transcript after a degree has been granted?

Q: Can a university destroy a transcript after a degree has been granted? A: Can they destroy your transcripts? Presumably they have ability to do so. Would they destroy your transcripts? Unlikely in the extreme. This is because many organizations (including all other universities) will request your prior university transcripts when evaluating you when you apply for entry into their programs. Employers generally will only ask this of grads who have zero or limited work experience. Once you are established, nobody cares about grades they care about the quality of work that you have produced on the job as a measure of how useful they feel you would be for their needs. The obvious question is: why is this of concern? Do you have bad grades that you dont want others to know about?
