Yes, every academic institution cares about transcripts and GPAs of applicants at some level. Do they need to be perfect to be accepted? Certainly not. The best universities use a holistic approach to admissions, and while grades are a factor, because so many applicants have excellent transcripts other factors are what make the difference between acceptance and rejection.
