How do universities in America spot a fake Transcript from a non US?
Transcripts I sent were required to be attested by the Head of Department of my University with the department seal. It also required a seal from my University. Transcripts were to be in a sealed envelop with the University seal on both ends of the envelope (so theyd know if the envelopes were tampered with). Some american universities also requested the transcripts be sent directly from the university so students have nothing to do with them. International students can usually fake only one of the above seals/signatures if at all possible. In addition to this, foreign universities in the database of the american school being applied to can be contacted to verify credentials if doubtful. Unlisted universities are usually rare and most go through the students projects and other qualifications to see if the grades match with what the student has done. If discrepancies are observed, the application is simply rejected. You must understand that the professors and other university staff who go through these applications are very smart!
