It is up to the admissions committee to determine if a candidates grades and transcripts are acceptable. Not the applicant. Since you cannot become a surgeon without a baccalaureate degree, a medical degree, and completion of a surgical residency, your undergraduate major is of little importance. As long as you complete two years Chemistry with lab to include Organic, one year calculus, one year Physics with lab, and one year college biology with lab, and get straight As you should be all set. Did I mention the MCAT examination?
