I mostly got bad grades during 6th grade. Do I still have a chance to apply to a CalState or UC? Do universities even check your middle school transcript? Such an innocent question! Yes, by all means you can apply to Cal State or University of California, all locations. Middle school grades have no bearing on your eligibility. Even the fact that you asked at such a young age is a really good sign. Most youth arent thinking that far ahead. It is your high school GPA that will matter when you apply to college so by all means, make sure you are performing well during those years. Make sure you take the ACT and/ or SAT test early and often the schools will accept whichever score is highest. Universities also require a particular GPA, and this is different depending on the school, but shoot for straight As in all your classes just to be safe. and remember, ALL of your classes count toward your GPA, even PE or Culinary, or whatever other class you have that seems like its not a real subject.
