Should I request to get my official University transcript in person?
It depends on what you are using it for. If you need it to apply to graduate school or another school most want it sent directly to them. Some schools are very strict on their definition of official, meaning if you handle the envelope at all - let alone open it- it is no longer considered official. Others just want it in an unopened school envelope. If you just want a copy for yourself and are not in a rush, have them mail it.
